Five members of Huntington High School’s Teen Advisory Committee proudly represented the school at the Northwest Louisiana Teen Summit on Mental Wellness, held this week at Ochsner LSU Health in Shreveport. The summit brought together students from across the parish to address growing concerns related to adolescent mental health, emotional resilience, and overall well-being.
Huntington’s student representatives engaged in meaningful conversations focused on self-care, emotional regulation, positive peer relationships, and the importance of early mental health intervention. The summit emphasized equipping teens with practical tools to support both themselves and their peers, highlighting strategies such as mindfulness practices, recognizing signs of mental distress, and seeking help from trusted adults.
Huntington High School is proud of its student representatives for demonstrating leadership, compassion, and a commitment to improving mental health awareness within their community. Their involvement in the Teen Summit reflects the school’s dedication to empowering students to become advocates for themselves and others.
